no contacts

After a bout with allergies earlier this month that made wearing my contacts impossible I decided to switch back to glasses permanently. I had frames that I bought about 10 years ago and I had kept the perscriptions up-to-date as I would sometimes wear them when the contacts weren't working. SO I'm wearing them all the time now. People say they like the look.

I love not having to fuss with the contacts in the morning. The worst part of my morning routine was that I always wanted to put moisturizer on as soon as I got out of the shower. But I couldn't get my hands covered with lotion before I put on the contacts, even if I washed my hands a second time there was still enough lotion on my hands that it stung my eyes when I put the contacts in. So I had to put the contacts in first which meant standing naked in the bathroom while I'm trying to get the things in my eyes, and meanwhile my skinis drying which would make the moisturizer less effective when I finally was ready to put it on.

My only not quite solved problem is preaching from my sermon manuscript which requires a middle-distance view somewhere between my bifocals. I've gotten through two Sundays but it's not great. This Sunday I'm going to try a bigger font.
